Back to the real world this evening at 7:30 pm...lugging my suitcases and new ice chest filled with all the food we bought and didn't eat down to the house...unpacking...laundry...feeding dogs...homework that was technically due Friday night but isn't finished yet. I tried to work on it this weekend (really I did!) and got a little bit done, but it's hard when you're surrounded by friends you never get to see, and just outside of the window the sun is shining in a robin-egg blue sky, the waves are stretching onto the beach, and there are still a few chapters left in the book you started last May.
So here I am at the computer at 10pm knowing tomorrow's minutes are already filled with work (at the church), work (at the insurance company), and open house at the high school. I have to focus and work on it tonight, even as I try to hold on to the memory of the sun's rays warming my body, the wind cooling it off, the waves playing background music while I sip my Bloody Mary and escape into the world of my novel.
More later...but now, to my screenplay...
