Some people talk about multi-tasking as "juggling," and that's a good metaphor, I guess, but I prefer "plate-spinning." Don't ask me why. (What we should be wondering is why we describe our lives and responsibilities in terms of circus acts...)
Maybe it's the way I handle my tasks - give one a spin then ignore it while I spin another one to get it going again, and so on and so on, praying that I'm quick enough to get back to the first plate before it slows down so much it crashes to the ground. The photo above (of master juggler John Park) is a perfect impersonation of my life right now (metaphorically speaking), down to the cradling of the phone and the expression on his face. However, I rarely wear black vests over white shirts.
