Friday was summer...sunshine, shorts, sweat, air-conditioning in the car. Saturday was winter...gray skies, biting wind, bundle up, heater on. Sunday is a compromise.
Yesterday Tom and I met friends downtown at the Home and Garden Show, hoping for more Garden than we found. While the show was a bit of a let-down, it was fun just getting out, seeing Darla, Maddie, Leslie, and Clive. I didn't come home empty-handed, though. Darla and I jumped on a special deal - the first five to purchase the AMAZING EURO-BROOM got a second one FREE! How could we resist? Once home and tried out, maybe it's not as amazing as it seemed, of course, but that's okay - I needed some more brooms, anyway. Mine tend to disappear...outside...to the garage...it's good to have extras.
Yesterday was also another 50th birthday. Todd is one of those friends who has been somewhere in my life forever, it seems. He's been great about keeping in touch over the years, and the one that broke it to me when my old boyfriend died. Since he's been battling his own health issues in recent years, I worry when I don't hear from him in a while and I nag him about not taking care of himself. I want him to be around to wish many more "Happy Birthdays!"
Here's Todd and the other guys in my 2nd grade class after our play...in back Ricky, Todd, Alan, David, Randy, Keith, and in front Dwayne, Mark, Paul, Travis, and the other Ricky.
And Todd at one of our get-togethers this past year...
