Tomorrow morning Tom and I will head north for a pass-off from a stranger on the side of the road. We'll be meeting the newest member of our family for the first time, a Rottweiler mix puppy...and bringing her home. We hope she likes us.
I've been a little nervous, worried about how Max will react to a new little sister...how Frankie will react to a new little sister...how the new little sister will react to Max and Frankie. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that no one gets hurt. Or eaten.
Max seems lonely at times. But at other times he seems to enjoy taking full advantage of being an "only puppy". And he does still seem like a puppy - despite being 6 years old. He's still Charly's baby, except Frankie has stepped in to play Charly's part, I think. Protective of "the Baby".
Oh, well. We're committed now. We'll just have to play this through and see how it turns out. Say a prayer!
This isn't a picture of the puppy, but I think it's similar to the one we saw. Of course, if all goes as planned, expect some real baby pictures tomorrow...
