I'm still hoping to post part 2 of the Shallue Vacation 2010 later today, but I came across something during my break from sweating that I wanted to share right away. (Tom and I are tidying up outside... mostly taming the overgrown weeds and cleaning up the "puppy playpen" on our porch.)
My friend Gina lives in a small town near Dallas where the mayor recently killed her 19-year-old daughter and then herself. Gina wrote about the tragedy and brought up points that I think all of us should consider in our daily lives, especially in our interactions with people and our responses to news reports on celebrities and politicians.
What is your first reaction when you hear about a tragedy like this? What does your reaction say about you? Are you the kind of person a friend could come to with a problem? I hope I am, but Gina's post made me wonder, and I think it's always good to wonder about yourself from time to time.
Please click on this link and read Gina's post here - believe me, it's worth the few minutes...
