If we could see the miracle of a single flower clearly, our whole life would change.
~ BUDDHA
It took a newcomer to make me slow down yesterday; the recent rains must have coaxed this delicate purple bloom out in the open. I don't remember seeing one like this around here before... but maybe I had just always been in too big of a hurry, too distracted by dogs and dams to pay attention.
I opened my eyes and discovered beauty I had been looking past for weeks... these tiny masterpieces were everywhere, lining the dirt road like a dainty garland.
At first glance, you don't notice them, they're such tiny bits of color clinging to wild weeds - not bold and brilliant as spring flowers tend to be, but modest and shy, unaware of their beauty. Wonderful reminders to me that it pays to slow down and pay attention to the tiny details, tiny wonders. Another reassuring reminder of God's mastery and attention to detail.
