Do you still dress up for Halloween?
On our first Halloween together, Tom and I dressed as Frankenstein (Tom, of course) and a little girl from the village (me) for a co-worker's party. His was a recycled costume from a previous Halloween, but he went all out...he even had platform shoes to make him tower above me. EEEK!!!
My costume was just what I wore for high school Senior Kid Day...yawn...
Another year, for another party, we dressed as devils. Not so cute. No pictures, thank goodness. But we made a comeback another year as Indiana Jones (me) and a native (Tom). No pictures that year, either....we had kids by then.
We always scrounged for costumes, recycling old clothes. Too cheap and too lazy to rent anything for one night.
We haven't dressed up in years. Just the idea of trying to think of something kind of tires me out!
I'm trying to remember the last time I donned some sort of costume for Halloween...I think it was when I manned the city library booth at the elementary school Fall Festival. I threw on a sombrero and serape (garage sale find and vacation souvenir, respectively), and that was that.
I was so hot! No, not sexy hot, but sweaty hot...imagine wearing a wool blanket in a gym full of excited little kids. See?
Gosh, that was over a decade ago!
We've been invited to a Halloween party in the woods this weekend - costume optional. I'm trying to decide if we're going to dig around in the dress-up box for alter egos or just be party-poopers.
It's supposed to be chilly tonight - maybe I'll go find that serape. I could throw on a cowboy hat, some jeans and boots, and squint like Clint Eastwood...
If you're like me, still trying to decide, take a look at this hilarious video, sent to me by my costume-creative friend above, Kim...
