Each of us stands our ground, doing our best to remain upright through the elements...
We're pushed and shoved by the weather...
By life. By time.
We have our own space, separate from the rest, vulnerable to the wind in just a slightly different angle than the next one...
...but that's good, because we're connected, each one of us, and when one is feeling the pressure, when the wind is pushing and pushing, our connections hold us up, keep us from falling.
When the wind shifts direction, as it always does, it's our turn to brace and hold and keep the other from falling, and in that way we all stand, tall and strong.
What would I do without my friends...those that stretch back to the horizon with me, and those who have joined in recently, adding strength by numbers...
...my unique and beautiful fence posts, standing with me... guarding, shielding, protecting... joined by memories, blogs, shared passions...
....my tough-as-barbed-wire connections.
This post was my contribution to Jillsy's One Word Wednesday..."Connect". To join in, or to just see the other contributions, go HERE...
Today I'm grateful for all of my connections...friends and family, young and...not so young, male, female, long-time and brand new...
Thank you for the times you've helped hold me up, kept me standing, when I just wanted to fall.
