I stepped out this morning to a world washed by a silent rain. It surprised me, seeing the puddles on the porch and the drops glistening in the trees. I hadn't expected it to rain last night, didn't hear it tapping on our metal roof.
How much more surprised the people of Japan must have been when the earthquake shook their world and the tsunami silently followed...
Images from a video posted on Facebook that reveals the incredible power of the tsunami keep flashing in my mind. Click on the link HERE - it lasts about 6 minutes, but be sure to watch it until the very end. (I hope you can see it. You might need to be signed into Facebook.)
The man who posted it lives in Japan and has started a Facebook page where he continues to post information. Click HERE to see his page.
Huffington Post published an article listing ways to help the victims (click HERE) and Austin's own SXSW created a website in collaboration with the American Red Cross. Click HERE to check it out. (SXSW, or South by Southwest, is a music, film, interactive festival going on here right now.)
If nothing else, please join me in continuing to pray for the country of Japan and all of its people.
